Photovoltaics at the stage of sustainable development
2025-07-16In July 2025, auctions were held for the sale of electricity from renewable energy sources, of which only two out of seven were settled. RES Construction monitored the auction results together with its clients, and some of the winning projects will be jointly implemented in 2026.
To sum up: 75.9 TWh of green energy worth over PLN 31 billion was allocated, but only 16 TWh was contracted for less than PLN 5 billion. Photovoltaic installations dominated, winning 126 of the 129 winning bids. The greatest interest was in auctions for installations with a capacity of over 1 MW, where approximately 15.8 TWh of energy was sold for PLN 4.8 billion. Energy prices in this auction ranged from PLN 100/MWh to PLN 329.68/MWh. The second auction concerned installations with a capacity of up to 1 MW, and 0.48 TWh of energy was sold. Both auctions showed the phenomenon of “forced competition,” and auctions for other technologies, such as biogas plants and hydroelectric power plants, were not concluded due to a lack of sufficient bids.
